This Privacy Policy explains how Framio ("Framio," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Framio mobile application, our websites, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Summary: Framio is a local-first EXIF photo frame and watermark app. We do not require an account and we do not upload your selected photos or photo metadata to our servers. Some versions of Framio may include analytics or advertising SDKs; when present, those SDKs may process app, device, usage, and advertising data as described below, but they are not intended to receive the photos or EXIF metadata you select for editing.
1. Information we process
Photos and photo metadata
When you choose a photo, Framio may access the selected image and its available metadata, including image dimensions and EXIF fields such as camera maker, camera model, capture time, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Framio uses this information to preview and render photo frames and watermarks.
This processing happens on your device. Framio does not send your selected photos or EXIF metadata to our servers.
Device permissions
Framio may request access to your photo library or media storage so that you can select images for editing. You can grant, limit, or revoke these permissions through your device settings. If you revoke permission, some app features may stop working until permission is restored or a photo is selected through an available system picker.
Exported or shared images
If you save, export, or share an edited image, the resulting file is stored or transferred according to the action you choose and the operating system, app, or destination you select. Framio does not control third-party apps or services that you choose as sharing destinations.
Support communications
If you contact us, we may receive your email address, the content of your message, and related metadata needed to respond. Please avoid sending sensitive photos or personal information unless it is necessary for your support request.
Diagnostics provided by app stores or operating systems
If you choose to share diagnostics with Apple, Google, or your device platform, we may receive limited crash reports, performance data, device model, operating system version, app version, and similar technical information through the applicable developer tools. We use this information to diagnose bugs and improve reliability.
Analytics and advertising SDKs
Framio may integrate third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. When enabled, these SDKs may process information such as app version, device model, operating system version, language, region, IP address, advertising identifiers, app events, feature usage, session information, crash or performance signals, ad impressions, ad clicks, and fraud-prevention signals.
Analytics data helps us understand reliability and feature usage. Advertising data may be used to deliver ads, measure ad performance, limit ad frequency, detect abuse, and comply with advertising network requirements. We do not intentionally provide your selected photos or photo EXIF metadata to analytics or advertising SDKs.
Website and hosting information
When you visit our legal pages or websites, our hosting and security providers, such as Cloudflare, may process standard web request data, including IP address, browser type, user agent, requested URL, access time, and security signals. We use this information to deliver the website, maintain security, prevent abuse, and understand basic service reliability.

5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only in the following situations:

- Business transfers. If Framio is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or equivalent protections.
6. Data retention
Photos and EXIF metadata selected in the app are processed locally on your device and are not retained by us on our servers. Exported images remain wherever you choose to save or share them.
Support messages are retained for as long as needed to respond, maintain records of our communication, improve support, and comply with legal obligations. Website logs and security records are retained by us or our hosting providers for limited periods appropriate for security, operations, and compliance. Analytics and advertising providers may retain their SDK data according to their own retention practices and contractual or legal requirements.
7. Your choices and rights
You can control photo and media permissions through your device settings. You can delete local photos, exported files, or the app from your device at any time.
If analytics or advertising SDKs are enabled, you may be able to limit personalized ads, reset your advertising identifier, or manage tracking permissions through your device settings. Where required by law, we will provide consent or opt-out controls for applicable analytics or advertising processing.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy request, contact us at support@framio.org. We may need to verify your request before responding.
8. California privacy notice
If the California Consumer Privacy Act or similar laws apply, we do not sell personal information for money. If advertising SDKs are enabled, some disclosures to advertising providers may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. Where required, we will provide a way to opt out of such sharing. We collect only the categories of information described in this Privacy Policy for the purposes described above.
9. Children's privacy
Framio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice where required by law.
